Scheme token - overview

Worldline Sips plans to offer two variations of the scheme tokenization :

  • Scheme Token on behalf
    • The on behalf mode allows you to benefit from the scheme token functionality without changing your existing Worldline Sips integration through the cardOrder (merchantToken) and/or duplicate methods.
    • However, if you wish to fully utilize the functionality, you need to plan for some adaptation (e.g., new data in the response, etc.).
    • This mode also allows you to handle scheme tokens lifecycle, when generated through merchant tokens.
the merchant can provide either a PAN or a merchant token to Worldline Sips. Worldline Sips is responsible for converting it into a scheme token to process the transaction.
  • Scheme Token passthrough
    • The passthrough mode allows, if you already use scheme token (STKN) through your own means or via another PAT, to submit scheme token transactions through Worldline Sips.
    • You need to retrieve the scheme token data (scheme token, TAVV, and scheme token expiry date) and transmit it to Worldline Sips, which accepts the transaction with the STKN as input instead of the PAN. The exchanges for authentication, authorization and settlement are carried out using the STKN.
the merchant provides a scheme token as input to Worldline Sips in order to process the transaction.
